Aim High
OVERVIEW
The United States Air Force Recruiting Service (AFRS) needed to modernize its approach to engaging prospective recruits and managing its recruiting pipeline. Legacy workflows and fragmented tools made it difficult for recruiters to efficiently track candidates, coordinate application steps, and maintain consistent communication throughout the recruiting process.
Aviture partnered with AFRS to develop Aim High, a digital recruiting ecosystem designed to support candidates, recruiters, and families throughout the Air Force recruiting journey. The platform integrates mobile applications, recruiter tools, and automated workflows to create a more connected and transparent recruiting experience.
Today, the Aim High ecosystem, including the Aim High mobile app, Take Off digital sales aid, and Line Officer Automation (LOA) portal, provides a scalable digital foundation that helps the Air Force engage potential recruits while streamlining recruiting operations.

Highlights
Aviture partnered with the United States Air Force Recruiting Service to modernize recruiting through digital tools designed for today’s generation of prospective service members. Working closely with AFRS teams, Aviture developed solutions that support recruiters in the field while improving the experience for candidates exploring Air Force careers.
The partnership produced a secure, scalable ecosystem that connects recruits, families, and recruiters while streamlining recruiting workflows. These tools help reduce administrative burden, improve candidate engagement, and strengthen the Air Force’s ability to build a pipeline of future Airmen.
Impact
The Aim High ecosystem has transformed how the Air Force executes its recruiting mission. By replacing manual workflows with integrated digital tools, the platform allows recruiters to spend less time on administrative tasks and more time mentoring and preparing candidates.
Recruits gain transparent access to information about Air Force careers and can track their progress throughout the application and training process. The platform also enables families to stay connected during training, creating a more informed and supportive experience.
Beyond improving efficiency and engagement, Aim High helps the Air Force attract more informed and committed candidates, contributing to higher-quality accessions and better-prepared Airmen entering service. Together, these capabilities strengthen the recruiting pipeline, improve operational efficiency, and support the Air Force’s mission to develop battle-ready personnel.
Key Outcomes
- 825K+ app downloads of the Aim High mobile application
- 781K prospects reached through the Take Off platform
- 26% increase in recruiting leads
- 30% reduction in recruiter administrative workload
- 2× higher conversion rates compared to traditional recruiting pathways
- Recruiting targets achieved in FY2024 and 3 months early in FY2025
Challenge
The Air Force recruiting process historically relied on a mix of manual workflows, disconnected systems, and traditional outreach methods. Recruiters spent significant time managing administrative tasks such as collecting documents, coordinating testing, and tracking candidate progress across spreadsheets and email.
At the same time, recruiting teams faced a generational shift. Prospective recruits increasingly expect digital, transparent, and data-driven decision tools when evaluating career opportunities. Traditional recruiting materials and presentations struggled to meet the expectations of digitally native audiences.
These challenges created operational bottlenecks, inconsistent candidate experiences, and missed opportunities to connect with potential recruits.
Approach
Aviture partnered closely with AFRS to design a modern digital recruiting ecosystem centered on user experience, data-driven insights, and operational efficiency. The engagement began with discovery and user research involving recruiters and prospective recruits, providing critical insight into the challenges of managing candidates and navigating the recruiting process. These findings informed the design of a mobile-first platform that guides candidates through each stage of the journey while equipping recruiters with tools to engage and manage prospects more effectively.
To support both public-facing applications and secure government systems, Aviture implemented a cloud architecture within AWS GovCloud, leveraging serverless services, APIs, and containerized infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and operational flexibility. This foundation enabled the development of an integrated ecosystem that includes the Aim High mobile application for candidate engagement, lead capture tools for in-field recruiting, the Take Off digital sales aid for informed decision-making, and the Line Officer Automation (LOA) portal to streamline and standardize officer application workflows. Together, these capabilities are supported by integrated recruiter tools for communication, referrals, and candidate tracking.
Through user-centered design, iterative development, and close collaboration with AFRS teams, Aviture delivered a platform that not only modernizes recruiting operations but continues to evolve alongside the Air Force’s mission and workforce needs.
